Let's join together to
Beautify Our Shul!

A Message from Our Treasurer
Earlier this year, Rabbi Becker lained the Haftrah for Shekalim, which relates the words King Jehoash spoke to the Kohanim:
"All the money for the holy things that is brought to the House of Hashem....let every one of the Kohanim accept ...and let them fortify the repair of the House, wherever repair is found to be needed.... [They) took a chest, bored a hole in its lid and placed it at the right side of the Altar ... and the Kohanim... put into it all the money brought to the House of Hashem .... They gave the counted money into the charge of the workmen ... and they expended it for the carpenters and the builders who worked in the House of Hashem."
The words of the Haftarah speak to us today,  for our House at 598 Park Avenue is a House of Hashem and surely “repair is found to be needed" therein.  To pay for the necessary repairs we are seeking special contributions from members and friends of the Shul. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to do the following work:
  • New carpet and paint
  • Installation of bookcases donated to us by the Adelmans
  • New flooring and vanity in bathroom
  • Remodeled kitchen area
  • Improved lighting
With the Covid-19 pandemic winding down it will be nice to look forward to returning to our shul in a rejuvenated state.  It is hoped that each of us will pledge as much as we comfortably can.  Such contributions can be made in one payment or spread out over 4 months.  Payment can be made by check and mailed to 598 Park Avenue or by credit card via Pay Pal or thé YIH website or phoned in to Jay Viders at (516) 443-2700.  Any questions can be sent to me atjvids49@yahoo.com.  Please give generously.

Thank you,
Jay R. Viders
Treasurer
